Manga Sites
These are the sites I have used for free to read manga:
- OneManga.com - This site doesn't have as many mangas on it as a lot of others but it has the popular ones. It isn't updated quite as quickly but the new releases are uploaded within at least two days. Because it has less manga on it however it's faster to upload the pages. The staff work very hard to keep the site pop-up free and so far I have come across none. It gives detailed reports on the home page about which mangas have been uploaded and it's a simple set-up site. It doesn't, however, have the best search facilities as you can only search for one genre rather than a combination of. On the other hand it has a useful little feature of having a random anime every day so that you can choose the random one when you're unable to find something that interests you! ^^ This is the site I spend most of my manga-viewing time on.
- MangaFox.com - If OneManga.com didn't have the series you were looking for MangaFox will. I think it's like the biggest manga scanlation site on the internet and holds goodness knows how many. You can search alphabetically or with a combination of genres or by artist/author. You can also select genres you don't want to appear. For instance: you select, Shoujo, School Life, Romance, but you don't want Yaoi or Shoujo-Ai. Done. It has little known mangas and the big ones and is updated almost as soon as possible. The only down-side to MangaFox is that I have occassionally found blank pages or pages that have disappeared, or whole series that are no longer hosted, and it takes longer to upload a page because it has so many series'. Pre-warning: the list of mangas in the drop down menu on the site are not all the mangas they host. Check out the search options and you'll see them all organised alphabetically.
Anime Sites
Here's the sites I use for free anime watching:
- YouTube.com - YouTube is probably the best place for watching anime. Don't bother searching for individual episodes though. Check the channels and find users who have uploaded whole series'. You'll find that a lot of popular animes are deleted from YouTube due to copyright but you'll find loads of older, or less well-known animes.
- Veoh.com - Veoh is a strange site but always worth a try. You'll likely find nothing but occassionally, if you have good timing you'll be able to find whole series perfectly uploaded in the right sub/dub. Usually it's the subs on here. I've found whole series' of Tsubasa Chronicles, Gokusen and loads of J-Drama. It's always worth a double check on Veoh.
- DubHappy.com - Apart from the fact that it will occassionally have a series removed for infringement and has to put them all back on, dubhappy is probably one of the best sites for having a complete series. It doesn't have the most animes in the world but it has most of the well-known ones and updates regularly.
As I'm happy with the sites I use I don't look around the internet much for others. If you want me to add more sites to these lists that you think are particularly good then please feel free to post on this thread with this code: NAME OF SITE - COMMENT OR SHORT PARAGRAPH ABOUT THE SITE.
