- - The Setting
It is the 21st century, but not as we know it. In a parallel universe to our own there is a different Earth, a different Europe, England, and a dramatically different London. In our world the city thrived with booming real estate and increasing economical wealth; it was profitable to many and a slippery financial slope for others. In this world however those who fell down this slope resorted to other methods of getting their way. After the assassination of the last reigning monarch of England- the culprit still at large- the government fell apart and law and order ceased to take a hold of the underworld of criminals. Now they are running loose. At first it was simple thieves, pick-pockets and the occasional murder. Now, murder is a common occurence, people refuse to leave their homes at night and the police are failing to maintain the little authority they have left. Barrington City, as London is known as in this world, is crumbling away, ripping at the seams. Something has just got to give...
The Plot - -
Something obviously needed to be done about the city. But what and how were unknown. A secret alliance was formed in the shadows to try and right the city and by extension the country. This new government of sorts is comprised of six pillars of society. From these shadows in which they formed they have come to govern the city. Through favours, money, and simple force these educated law-abiding Heads of Departments are fighting the get the city back on it's feet. One of the propositions of this new government is the most brilliant and yet most risky scheme the country has ever encountered. The C.O.C.A. Standing for Crime On Crime Agency, this organisation was created of criminals. Hand chosen by it's leader- an infamous murderess and thief herself- this group work towards catching crooks still at large. The black-market world is thrown into chaos as crime lords no longer know who to trust. But then neither do the police. Some believe this to be a stroke of genius. Other's the signing of the city's death sentance. Though the group is run with efficiency and dedication to the law, the workers are still criminals convicted of hideous crimes. Is it really safe to hand the law over to these people, to do with as they wish? And what of the leader herself? Famous for multiple-murder, thieft, internet hacking and hi-jacking, suspected of more crimes than most could name, has Rachael Killman really gone straight? Or are the Heads of Departments walking into a trap they weren't clever enough to see?[/right]
